The turgrass research funding year begins with our annual conference and trade show. Normally, these three days yield about a third of our annual fundraising through the Silent Auction, 50/50 draw and by the efforts of the Kwantlen Turf Club. In the past, any contributions from allied organizations were presented at the show.

The Canadian Turfgrass Research Foundation is currently funding two research projects with the support of other allied organizations and funding partners. Both of these projects have a direct relationship to turfgrass management and the game of golf. Recent reports from the researchers have been used to write this brief description of the individual projects.

As the students return to classes, we are thankful for an excellent growing season in Alberta this year. September has brought our first single digit evening temperatures since June, so we’re preparing once again.
